  • This year we’re rolling with December 1st since we’re doing an advent-type approach. It’s up to you! We’ve had ours arrive the day after Thanksgiving before but we’ve also had them arrive on December 1st. Your elf can arrive at any time between Thanksgiving and the first week of December.
  • There’s no set date for the elf to arrive.
  • Let them have fun with this! Our kids each have their own elf so they named them, but if your family only has one elf, make it a family activity! Your kids will need to name their elf when it comes home. If you’re still figuring out how this whole thing works, there are a few Elf rules to help out parents: When your kids go to bed that night, their elf will fly back to the North Pole until next Christmas. Their elf can take their messages back to Santa each night. Your kids can talk to their elf and let them know what they want for Christmas. This is the big one that makes life easier for us as parents. If the elf gets touched, they’ll lose their magic and won’t be able to fly back to the North Pole to report back to Santa.
